Delhi to Bangalore: Day 2 (Travel to Sagar)

Today was an exciting day for me as I made my way to Sagar, the next stop on my journey. Sagar is a beautiful city located in the north-central region of Madhya Pradesh. It was founded by Udan Singh in 1660 and is famous for its large and once-beautiful lake.

To get to Sagar, I had to travel on National Highway 44 (NH44), passing through Jhansi, Babina, and Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh. After re-entering Madhya Pradesh, the first town I encountered was Malthone. The route from Gwalior to Sagar was great, with picturesque views along the way. To reach Sagar city, I took NH146, passing by Gadpahra Fort, which lies between NH44 and NH146. The entrance to the fort is from NH146. Although the NH146 road is not in the best condition, it’s the only option.

I started my journey around 10:30 AM from Gwalior and arrived on the outskirts of Sagar around 3:00 PM. I had already booked a room in Hotel Ramsaroj Palace, which is located near Sagar Railway Station. The hotel is spacious, with comfortable rooms and friendly and helpful staff.

In the evening, I took a stroll to Gujrati Bazar Road and stopped by Choudhary Misthaan Bhandar to try their famous Chironji ka halwa, which was incredibly delicious. If you ever get a chance to visit Sagar, I highly recommend trying it out.

Tomorrow, I plan to start my journey early and aim to reach Nagpur by the afternoon.
